This Yo! Just Ride (YJR) youth mountain bike clinic is a 3-hour session designed for riders 18+, focusing on foundational mountain biking skills in a fun, supportive environment. Led by certified instructors, the clinic begins with a warm-up, followed by skill-building drills covering braking, cornering, and body positioning. Riders practice on varied terrain, incorporating trail obstacles and challenging features to build confidence and technical ability. The session concludes with guided trail rides, allowing participants to apply their skills in real-world conditions while receiving on-the-go feedback. The clinic emphasizes safety, technique, and developing a passion for riding.

Valley Park, perfect for riders aged 8 to 15! In our engaging 3-hour "Level
1 Fundamentals” clinic, your child will immerse in the basics of mountain
biking, surrounded by nature. Here’s what they’ll learn under the guidance
of John Raisch, a certified BICP Level 1 Ride Guide/Certified Skills
Instructor and National Interscholastic Cycling League coach.
Body & Bike Movement:
Stationary Mount/Dismount: Safe techniques to start & end rides.
Proper Pedaling: Efficient pedaling to conserve energy.
Standing on Pedals: Balancing while standing for better control.
Athletic Stance on Pedals: Adopting an active riding posture.
Front to Back Movement: Shifting weight forward and back to manage slopes and speed.
